The Africa Executive Council has announced that Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, Nigeria, has been awarded the Order of the Pride of Africa 2025 and the Nelson Mandela Medal for a Long Walk to Freedom.
According to the IHRC Geneva, Governor Namadi’s commitment to empowering the poor, providing humanitarian relief, and promoting social welfare has earned him international recognition. A five-month survey study by the IHRC Geneva’s subregional panels across the six Africa regions culminating in the final evaluation rated Governor Namadi highest in humanitarian leadership in Africa.
